Can a Y-type stop valve be used with solid-containing media?

Can a Y-type shut-off check valve be used in pipelines carrying solid-containing media? Does anyone who knows about it or has used it know the reason? I’ve read in some books that straight-through mud globe valves can be used with solids-containing media. What is the fundamental difference between a mud globe valve and a Y-type globe valve? I hope experts will not hesitate to share their knowledge.
I’ve never heard of mud stop valves. Given the properties of the medium, conventional stop valves are indeed not suitable, as they have an inlet at the higher level and an outlet at the lower level, resulting in a large area subject to erosion; there is a risk that the mud could solidify within the channels. If the mud pressure is not high, a gate valve is recommended.
I’m not very familiar with its applications in mud systems, but if the mud is passed through and flow stops, won’t any residual liquid remain inside the valve? Won’t it coagulate?
