The dry quenching boiler in a coking plant generates medium-pressure steam at 3.82 MPa and 450 degrees Celsius; this steam is originally used for power generation. Normally, we would choose GD1 for this purpose; But now, it is planned to divert a portion of the steam flow to the chemical production area through pipelines; I would like to know whether these pipelines should be classified as GC2 or GD1. 2. The second scenario: Under the same conditions, the steam pressure is 9.8 MPa and the temperature is 540°C, just like in Scenario 1; however, after passing through a temperature and pressure reduction unit, the conditions become 3.6 MPa and 420 degrees ; So, should the pipeline before temperature and pressure reduction (the branch leading from the main steam pipeline) be classified as GC2 or GD1? I’m not sure whether there is a clear distinction between GC and GD. Moreover, in the Special Equipment Catalogue No. 114 from 2014, power pipelines were classified under industrial pipelines, which is a bit confusing

GD are pipes used in thermal power plants for transporting steam and two-phase steam-water mixtures; pipes that lead from GD pipes to areas used in chemical processes should be classified as industrial pipes of category GC. Personally, I believe it should be divided after the valve following the branch.
Strictly speaking, GD is a steam and water pipeline used for power generation in thermal power plants. However, many waste heat boilers generate electricity nowadays as well, and they are also considered part of GD. There is a relatively simple way of classification: those that generate electricity using steam turbines are classified as GD, while the others are classified as GC.

The simple classification method is based on area: Pipelines located within the red boundary of the plant site are considered industrial pipelines and fall under the GC category. Pipelines in thermal power plants that are part of the power piping system belong to category GD. The pipelines leading from thermal power plants into towns are utility pipes of GB category. In 2017, a draft of the \"Technical Standards for Inter-plant Pipeline Engineering in Petrochemical Plants\" was released for comments; this applies to situations where the distance between two plant areas is less than 30 km. It is not yet clear whether it has been implemented.
It seems that it hasn’t been implemented. Moreover, the chemical area and the power generation area in coking plants are usually no more than 1-2 KM apart. But it makes sense to follow the designated boundaries: power generation/pipelines/chemical processes
Boundary problem for GD-type pipes: Hello everyone. Steam generated as a by-product in a thermal power plant has a temperature of 210°C and a pressure of 1.6 MPa; it is extracted from the steam distribution cylinder in the power plant and sent to the chemical plants within the industrial complex for use. This pipe runs from the steam distribution cylinder to the main pipeline corridor in the chemical plants – so does this pipe fall under the GC category or the GD category? It travels approximately 500 meters inside the power plant, and another 1 km along the pipeline corridors in the industrial complex outside the plant.
So, does this pipe belong to GC or GD? It should be GD, right?
