How are the pipes layered on the pipe layout diagram? What does the EL 0.000 level represent, and which pipes at different elevations are included in it?
What does that mean? Should it be a cross-sectional view, or a top-view with layers?
May I ask what pipes should be placed on layer EL0.000?
Oh, as long as it can be expressed clearly, that’s fine, right? For example, if the pipeline system is divided into 4 layers in total, then the drawings should also be created in 4 layers. As long as the horizontally arranged pipes are not obstructed and this does not prevent subsequent personnel from viewing them, that’s fine, right? The EL 0.000 level is probably the base elevation, right? For the other layers, use the elevation of the section you have taken; round it off as much as possible.

This approach to drawing the layout plan of pipes at zero elevation may give rise to doubts; pipe diagrams are usually top views, and when there are many pipes, they overlap on such views. Therefore, a layered method is used to draw the pipe layout plans, with height markings such as EL+0.000–EL+5.000 being employed. This indicates that the pipes in question lie within the 0–5 meter range. The pipes themselves also have elevation marks, which can make the description clearer. It’s just my personal little experience; I’m not sure if it’s applicable.
I used to draw it in the same way; when there are too many layers, the pipes become discontinuous. The pipe from the pump outlet to the point where it turns toward the equipment has to be shown on 3-4 different drawings. Has this kind of situation occurred?
The layered design of pipelines is determined based on the pipeline connections between equipment; if there is no difference, refer to the pipeline design section in the chemical engineering design manual; EL 0.000 needs to be referred to in conjunction with the drawings; it can generally be considered as the elevation of the center of the pipes (if what is indicated is the elevation of the pipes), or it can also be understood as all the pipes located on the EL 0.000 level
