The factory uses cladding sleeves; for 1-inch inner pipes, 1.5D elbows are used. Does the construction team say the elbow radius is too small? Is the pressure loss too high? I would like to ask the experts here: 1.5D elbows are probably commonly used, right? But according to the construction team, it is necessary to purchase ones with a grade of 5D or higher? 10D? Is that what people say? I’m new to this and don’t know much about it; I searched on the forum and found that 1D and 1.5D are probably the most commonly used elbow types. Is it necessary to use such a large radius? ?
What medium? The construction company isn’t responsible for the design either, so what they say might not necessarily be correct
I just went to the site to check it out. A bend indeed is not a commonly used radius. It’s probably around 10D. I asked, and the viscosity of the medium is still quite high. The pipe is a double-jacketed tube, 1" inside and 2" outside. This jacket tube uses a welding method with exposed welds; does the jacket still need to be installed on this elbow section as well? The length exposed outside must be about 50 centimeters.
Pipes with an inch diameter are considered small pipes; in the power industry, elbows with a nominal diameter of less than 50 always use bent pipes, and their radius is generally not less than 100 millimeters. 1.5D is commonly used. Tubes with large curvatures such as 5D and 10D are relatively rare.

The method involves exposing the weld of the sleeve; no sleeve is used for elbows. That is, in the form of a half-jacket. Refer to SH/T3040-2012
This elbow is too large. . I just searched in the warehouse for the elbow pipes that were left over from when it was first built. The length should be 70-80 centimeters. It won’t work without a jacket
