Having recently come into contact with refrigeration systems, I noticed that solenoid valves are used more frequently in these systems rather than electric valves used in the chemical industry. Under the same conditions, solenoid valves are slightly cheaper, but the savings are limited, after all, the pipes in refrigeration systems are quite thin. As for switch speed, the difference between milliseconds and seconds doesn’t seem to make any practical difference in terms of manufacturing processes. In terms of lifespan, the electric actuator is only activated during the opening and closing of the valve, while the solenoid valve remains powered on continuously; it seems that the electric valve has a better lifespan. The biggest advantage, in my opinion, is that the solenoid valve actuator is much smaller in size compared to electric actuators. It takes up no space. I can’t figure it out; could someone from the refrigeration industry please explain?

As for the claim that it remains powered on all the time, that is not entirely accurate; it depends on whether power is supplied or cut off during use. The voltages used also vary. Moreover, the electric valve has a complex structure, high cost, and its failure rate during use also needs to be taken into consideration. Now, companies are all working on reducing costs, saving energy, and minimizing consumption – these are essential for gaining a competitive edge in the market; therefore, manufacturers have already taken such issues into consideration. Electric valves generally cannot reset themselves after a fault occurs, but recently some manufacturers have introduced electric valves that can do so; however, their price is exorbitantly high. Considering the lack of air supply and overall costs, the solenoid valve is also the best choice.
