Recently, a project used heat transfer oil as a heat source; The heat transfer oil main pipe has a diameter of DN150, with an operating temperature of 230°C and an operating pressure of 0.8 MPaG. Under these operating conditions, the operating temperature does not exceed the standard boiling point; upon reviewing TSGD0001, it can be seen that the medium being transported does not meet the requirements specified in clause 2, sub-clause 3 ; But looking at Appendix A, it can be classified as GC2 category. I would like to ask whether this is considered a pressure pipeline or not Does it belong to the category of pipelines that require notification to the special inspection agency? Should it be designed in accordance with the requirements for pressure pipelines, or according to those for industrial metal pipelines?
Our heat transfer oil pipelines are classified as pressure pipelines, and the relevant departments conducted inspections in the previous phase.

It is necessary to consider the flash point of the heat transfer oil; if the flash point is below 230°C, it is considered a pressure pipeline; The flash point is above 230°C, so it is not a pressure pipeline.
Heat transfer oil should be considered a flammable medium; pipelines with a pressure greater than 0.1 MPa and a pipe diameter of more than 50 MM are classified as pressure pipelines

Since oil has been classified as a flammable medium, it is undoubtedly subject to the regulations governing pressure pipelines.
