Hello everyone: For the methanol cracking hydrogen production system that was put into operation by our company last July, ordinary globe valves are used at the outlet of the heat transfer oil circulation pump. In less than a year, two of these valves have already failed (one suffered from internal leakage and the other had its valve core fall off). I would like to purchase new valves of better quality; do you have any recommendations? It is best to be from the same system. The medium is heat transfer oil, with a temperature of 245–280°C, a flow rate of 150 m3/h, and a pump outlet pressure of 0.4–0.5 Mpa. Thank you!
1 Please pay attention to the installation direction. 2 It is recommended to use a gate valve
Heat transfer oil involves low-density leaks and is prone to exposure; a bellows stop valve must be used! ! ! It is recommended to choose Hangzhou Tietewei Valve Manufacturing Co., Ltd
Are you willing to spend money? I have good valves

Thank you for the reply! The pump outlet valve is installed vertically; the orientation of the stop valve is correct – it has low inlet and high outlet. It’s quite troublesome to modify gate valves now, as they have a different length from globe valves, and it’s necessary to cut the pipes using welding.

Stop valves are not recommended to be installed vertically; they should be installed horizontally.
