Question: I need a valve that can fit against the wall of a horizontal tank and open and close, similar to a louver valve. The inlet and outlet surfaces of a louver valve are flat, but I need a closing mechanism that can adapt to the curvature of the tank wall.
Out of curiosity, I wonder that such valves may not have good sealing properties – don’t you care about that?
One end is connected to the storage tank, and the other end is open to the atmosphere; it can be operated manually via a switch, or by an automatically controlled valve known as a vent valve; A safety valve is installed on top of the storage tank, remains in a closed state, and cannot be externally controlled ; Installed at the bottom of the storage tank and connected to the atmosphere, it is called a drain valve, bottom valve, or tilt-rocker ball valve ; Installed at the bottom of the storage tank and connected to other safety media, it is a valve that remains closed under normal conditions except when it is used for the first time or after maintenance; it is also known as a replacement valve or a purging valve.
I’m mainly concerned about the integrity of the container; if it’s under pressure, having it mounted on the container wall as a means of adjustment isn’t very safe! Also, why is it placed on the tank wall? If it’s just for regulating flow, there are many types to choose from.....
It’s my description of the operating conditions that wasn’t clear enough. My tank is horizontal and rotates, and the valve needs to rotate along with it; its function is to allow the discharge of material after the reaction is complete. If the valve is too large, it will get in the way during rotation.
