Some projects use A-series pipes; as it is a niche series, it is difficult to find compatible fittings and connectors. Like other B-series pipes, the connection is also rather troublesome. Currently, some new projects are also gradually being switched from Series A to Series B. Compared to the B series, for sizes below DN200, the outer diameter is generally larger ； For DN300 and above, the outer diameter is generally smaller. What were the main considerations when formulating the A-series standards in China at that time?
I feel like the A series is used more often. We are a equipment manufacturing company, and we currently use more A-series pipes
In fact, the A series is an internationally standard series, and it is used in industries such as petrochemicals, chemicals, and power generation in China. The B series is a series that remains in use in China, and it is widely applied in industries such as coloring and municipal services
We usually give priority to Series B. There are no special requirements, so the A series will not be used.
It would be advisable to consider the internationally standard option; we usually use the B series, unless there is a specific requirement
Unless specifically requested, versatility and cost-effectiveness should still be considered.
For small sizes, the A series is used; essentially, it’s the same grade of pipe with a slightly larger inner diameter!
