I would like to ask whether it is necessary to remove oil and degrease the hydrogen peroxide pipelines. What is the purpose of degreasing? Are there any relevant regulatory requirements? Thank you
HG 20202-2014 Code for Construction and Acceptance of Degreasing Projects 7.0.2 For systems whose operating media are highly oxidizing substances such as liquid oxygen, oxygen, oxygen-enriched air, concentrated nitric acid, and hydrogen peroxide, the surfaces that come into direct or indirect contact with equipment, pipelines, and instruments shall be inspected using one of the following methods: 1. Use ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 320nm–380nm to examine the surface of the degreased parts; no oil fluorescence should be present, which indicates compliance. 2. Wipe the surface of the degreased parts with clean, dry white filter paper or silk cloth; it is considered acceptable if no traces of oil remain. 3 Use oil-free steam to blow and degrease the parts; collect the condensate using clean containers. Add a small particle of camphor with a diameter of less than 1 mm – it is considered satisfactory if the camphor particle keeps rotating. The oil content on the surface of 4 pairs of degreased workpieces should be quantitatively analyzed; a value not exceeding 120 mg/m2 is considered acceptable. Its analysis method shall be carried out in accordance with the provisions of Appendix E of this specification.
Oil and grease removal treatment is necessary for that. Hydrogen peroxide is a strong oxidizing agent with a powerful flame-boosting effect.
It is necessary; just like oxygen pipelines, it needs to be degreased to prevent accidents caused by static electricity igniting fuel mixed within the oxidizing agent
