From December 13 to 14, 2023, the 20-inch, 150-pound ultra-low temperature reverse-flowing swing check valve, developed jointly by Hubei Taihe Petrochemical Equipment Co., Ltd. and **Pipeline Network Group’s Yuedong Liquefied Natural Gas Company, passed the evaluation tests and is now ready for mass production and industrial use. The product possesses complete independent intellectual property rights, filling a gap in the domestic market. This will inject new momentum into the company’s development. This new product represents the first development of a new type of swing check valve equipped with a lift valve disc mechanism; it has the capability to prevent reverse flow and can be widely used in the LNG, or liquefied natural gas, sector. It significantly reduces the investment costs and construction time required for LNG receiving stations, while also enhancing their safety and reliability. Two utility model patents were granted for the development of this product. The appraisal committee believes that the structural design of the product prototype is reasonable, the material selection is appropriate, and the technical parameters and performance indicators meet the requirements specified in the development task plan, technical specifications, and relevant standards. The product prototype has undergone tests for its performance at normal temperatures, low temperatures, and low-temperature durability, and third-party inspections have confirmed that the results meet the requirements specified in the technical specifications, test plans, and relevant standards. Hubei Taihe Petrochemical Equipment Co., Ltd.’s R&D capabilities, manufacturing process equipment, testing conditions, and quality assurance system meet the requirements for mass production; its key technical parameters are at the advanced level of similar international products, making it suitable for use in LNG receiving stations.
