　　Recently, the disc valve developed by the Beijing Aerospace Power Research Institute, which is part of the Sixth Academy of China National Space Administration, passed a one-month trial operation test on the slag lockhopper of a multi-nozzle opposed water-coal slurry gasification unit in a coal gasification project in Shandong Province, and was officially put into use. This marks the first time that a disc valve produced by the Beijing Aerospace Power Research Institute has been used as a shut-off valve for a slag lockhopper. 　　The slag lockhopper is installed at the bottom of the gasifier and is used to collect the slag water generated after the gasification of water-coal slurry. A disc valve is installed at the inlet and outlet of the slag lockhopper to intermittently cut off the flow of slag water; it operates under very harsh conditions and serves as a key instrument valve for carrying out slag removal operations and ensuring the long-term continuous operation of the gasifier. The successful operation of the control valve I developed in this project has laid a solid foundation for the widespread use of this product in similar installations.
