Why do brackets need to have corners cut off?

I would like to ask fellow users: why do brackets need to have their corners cut off? In some projects, there is no requirement for such corner cutting.
Chamfering the brackets is primarily for safety and aesthetics; it prevents sharp corners from causing injury to people, and it also facilitates the connection and fixation of the brackets to other structures. Different projects have different design requirements; some may not require corner trimming. .
