Construction begins on the export pipeline for China’s largest coal-to-natural gas production facility 2025-09-09 Today (September 9), reporters learned from **Pipeline Network** that the construction has officially started on the export pipeline for China’s largest coal-to-natural gas production facility – the Zhundong Coal-to-Natural Gas Pipeline project. Once completed, this pipeline will be connected to the West-East Gas Transmission pipeline system, thereby further enhancing China’s capacity to ensure a stable supply of natural gas resources. It is understood that the Zhundong coal-to-gas production base is located in Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, and it represents the largest and most resource-rich coal field in China. The construction of the Zhundong coal-to-natural gas pipeline will help Xinjiang take advantage of its coal resources, promote the clean and efficient use of coal, accelerate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and further improve China’s strategic energy corridors for oil and gas in the western region.
