When installing rotary compensators, certain points need to be taken into consideration. Those familiar with heating systems know that as the temperature of the heating pipes rises, thermal expansion or temperature stresses can cause the pipes to deform or even break. At this point, it is necessary to install a device on the pipeline – a compensator; rotary compensators or sleeve compensators can all be used to compensate for the thermal expansion of the pipeline, thereby reducing the stress resulting from closure as well as the forces acting on the valve components or support structures. 1. Before installation, check whether the outer end of the inner tube is exposed above the gland to meet the design requirements ; 2. Weld the compensator directly (or connect it via flanges) to the main pipeline, and use a shield to protect the compensator during welding. Make sure to install it in accordance with the medium flow direction indicators specified by the compensator ; 3. The compensator must remain concentric with the pipeline; half of the rotation angle should be pre-aligned, or half of the installation length should be pre-aligned ; 4. At appropriate positions near both ends of the compensator, there should be a reliable guiding support each to ensure free expansion and contraction during operation. The pipe supports should be designed taking into account the amount of expansion along with a safety margin, as well as the operating temperature and installation temperature ; 5. The welding of end pipes shall comply with the provisions of GB985-88 and GB986-88 ; 6. When welding in extremely cold weather, the ends of the steel pipes as well as the end fittings should be preheated ; 7. After installation, check that all gland bolts are tightened evenly (do not over-tighten; even tightening is sufficient)
