Chlor-alkali has only started to be used in recent years to balance chlorine levels, with liquid chlorine even costing money to produce. Hydrogen production through water electrolysis is widely used in power plants, polycrystalline silicon production, and new energy vehicles; the technology is already very mature! The electrolyzers are mostly old-style diaphragm cells, with the gas-liquid separation entirely housed in a shell. Many manufacturers, including the 718 Research Institute of CSSC and Jiangsu Jingli, are capable of carrying out this task, and the basic manufacturing processes are more or less similar.
