Hello, everyone. I’m currently facing a problem: how to calcine sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) into sodium carbonate (soda ash). Sodium bicarbonate is a crystalline product obtained from an aqueous solution. Its moisture content is approximately 95%. The particle size is unknown (probably around 80 mesh). The production capacity is 2–4 tons per hour. I hope to find out what kind of equipment is required to calcine such sodium bicarbonate into sodium carbonate, and what the approximate cost would be? What fuel do you have? Requirements for the product?
It’s better to use coal, as it’s cheaper. The product is used for acid neutralization, so the purity requirement isn’t particularly high. Please reply at your earliest convenience. Thank you
If it’s for self-use to neutralize acids, then why is calcination necessary?
A steam calciner will do. Of course, centrifugal dehydration is also needed.

Generally, most soda ash plants opt for a furnace with dimensions of φ3600mm x 30000mm.
