The 600,000-ton/year high-performance resin environmental protection demonstration project of Shenmu Chlor-alkali has been put into operation. Recently, the entire production process of this project carried out by Shaanxi Jintai Chemical Technology Group Shenmu Chlor-alkali Co., Ltd. was completed, and it has entered the trial production phase. It is reported that this project is the first in the industry to integrate new technologies such as mercury-free catalytic synthesis of vinyl chloride, preparation of active calcium oxide from carbide slag, and advanced treatment of saline wastewater to achieve \"zero discharge\" of industrial wastewater. The total investment in the project is 7.66 billion yuan, which will be used primarily to build production facilities for 600,000 tons per year of high-performance resins produced by the calcium carbide method, 600,000 tons per year of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda, and 1.1 million tons per year of active calcium oxide made from calcium carbide slag. Construction of the project began in October 2020, it was completed in October 2022, and it became ready for trial production in October 2023. On April 20, 2024, the caustic soda plant completed its first trial run successfully and officially entered the trial operation phase.
