Experts: I would like to ask if anyone has used Ineos electrolyzers? How is it working? What are the advantages and disadvantages compared to Asahi Kasei or Asahi Glass electrolyzers? Thank you!
We are using Ineos batteries; structurally, they have higher power consumption and better safety features. However, in terms of subsequent maintenance, Ineos batteries are more difficult to service, require more replacement parts, and present more various issues during operation. It’s my personal opinion – I don’t recommend using this slot.
I have been using INEOS batteries for a long time, and here is a brief summary of their advantages: 1. Thanks to its special conductive claw structure, it enables a more even distribution of current within the battery. 2. In terms of voltage and power consumption, there has been a significant reduction compared to when it was first introduced in China, and the effects are quite notable. 3. It is very simple to replace the unit. 4. People think that Asahi Kasei and Chlor-Alkali Engineering are more troublesome to install, but in my opinion they are all similar; with INEOS, there is no need to use glue or anything to attach the gaskets to the sealing surfaces – they can be placed directly on those surfaces. The only difficulty is tightening the 76 bolts in the unit groove. 5. It can be applied to almost all current ion exchange membranes. 6. The operation is actually quite simple, with a higher level of automation compared to companies like Chlorine Engineering and Asahi Kasei. 7. The most important thing is that the overall system design of the electrolyzer is excellent, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Disadvantages: 1. Replacing the second-stage membrane is a bit troublesome. 2. After the coating fails, repainting or replacing the electrode is slightly more complicated than in the case of companies like Asahi Kasei (this also depends on the capabilities of the electrode manufacturer). 3. The inlet and outlet distribution pipes of the electrolytic cell are made of non-metallic materials, which make leaks more likely to occur (metal pipes can be replaced later). 4. A relatively larger number of spare parts are required, such as insulated PTFE sleeves, liquid outlet gaskets, and so on. These are my personal views; please feel free to correct me.
I really don’t agree with the first point among the advantages, as there are signs of burning on the membrane in the area where the conductive claws are located, which we removed. As for the second point, although the voltage consumption has decreased compared to when it was first introduced in China, it is still much higher than that of companies such as Asahi Kasei, Chlorec, and Beihua Machinery
