This depends on the quality of the raw salt used by the company. It is also important to control the amount of alkali used to avoid waste; generally, a consumption of 12-16 tons of alkali per ton of product is considered normal, while we keep it at around 14 tons
This consumption index is determined by the calcium content in the raw salt; there isn’t a specific figure. It’s sufficient to keep the excess alkalinity at a low level, around 0.3
Our company’s consumption is around 1.4; controlling the quality of the raw salt and the amount of alkali used is sufficient
