Many factories encounter problems with clogged air cap holes in their roasting furnaces. The blockages are usually localized, making it difficult to clean the furnaces when they are shut down. Attempts to clear the blockages using small drills prove ineffective; the drills tend to break easily, and it is hard to find drills of the desired length and strength. So, in my opinion, a simpler way to clean it is to drill holes using cement spikes; hold the spike with pliers while driving it in with a hammer. After driving it in, use pliers to hold the cement peg and stir it around inside, and the passage will be largely cleared (the size of the cement peg is slightly smaller than that of the vent hole). After cleaning, it ensures that the air cap does not need to be replaced, reducing maintenance time and costs. ——I’ve tested it myself
