Mechanical installation completed for Wanhufu Chemical’s project to produce sulfuric acid via the conversion of minerals into sulfides. The mechanical installation phase of Wanhufu Chemical’s project, which has an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons of sulfuric acid produced in this way, was completed on April 28, two days ahead of the original schedule. This technological upgrade project upgrades the existing sulfuric acid production facility with an annual capacity of 400,000 tons to a sulfite-based acid production process, thereby increasing production capacity while reducing energy consumption and achieving ultra-low emissions of exhaust gases. Since its launch on January 2 this year, the teams involved in this project have organized construction work in a scientific manner, strictly controlled safety and quality standards, to ensure a \"zero-accident\" record throughout the project’s implementation. The upgraded facility has an annual production capacity of 500,000 tons, and can generate 625,000 tons of steam as a by-product, resulting in a significant improvement in its environmental performance. A responsible official from Wengfu Chemical said that this represents another significant achievement by the company in the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, following the “1468” project and the project to improve the quality of 3 million tons of phosphogypsum. The project is now in the final stages, and the next steps will focus on preparing for trials and conducting a 72-hour performance assessment, with the aim of achieving the required standards and full production capacity as soon as possible. It is reported that the completion of this project has not only improved the operational efficiency of the facilities but also enabled resource recycling through steam co-generation, providing a new model for promoting the green development of the regional industry. Members of the Wengfu Chemical Group’s leadership team, heads of relevant departments, employee representatives, as well as representatives from various construction units were all present to witness the completion ceremony.
