For environmental or hygiene reasons, PVC products are required to be odorless. So how is that done? 1. Are there any areas that need improvement in the production of PVC resin powder? 2. Are there any requirements regarding the formulation for the post-processing of PVC resin powder? 3. Are similar requirements applicable to products of all grades?

For plasticizers, high-flash-point products are used, while for stabilizers, those with good stabilization capabilities, as well as good temperature and light resistance, are selected.
Phenol-free stabilizers should be used, as phenol is also a cause of an irritating odor.
There must also be specific requirements for the formula in the process stage. Does your friend work in resin production or post-processing?
The odorlessness of PVC products is related not only to the production processes and formulations used, but also to the PVC resin itself. Previously, we communicated with manufacturers that produce high-end automotive interior components, and we found that different PVC resins result in products with significant differences in odor. High-quality resins imported from abroad result in products with a very mild odor. We also obtained the pellets made from different types of PVC used by that interior trim manufacturer, and analyzed data such as VOC levels; indeed, there were significant differences. From the perspective of PVC production, at least the thermal stability of the PVC resin itself, the amount of vinyl chloride remaining, and the types of additives used in the polymerization formula all play some role.
