Acorema’s transparent polyamide production facility in Singapore comes online

According to Sinochem News, on January 13, AkzoNobel’s Rilsan Clear transparent polyamide production facility in Singapore went into full operation. With the launch of this new facility, AkzoNobel’s global production capacity for transparent polyamide increased by three times, making it the largest supplier of such material in Asia. Rilsan Clear is a transparent polyamide, namely PA11 resin. Compared to other polyamides, this material has a lower density and higher strength; it is also more wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, resistant to insect damage, and possesses superior electrical insulation properties. It can meet the demands of key markets for sustainable, high-performance transparent materials, such as those in eyewear, AR/VR and smart consumer electronics, industrial filtration, medical equipment, and household appliances. It is understood that the factory in Singapore, where this device is located, is Acroma’s largest investment project. This factory encompasses a complete industrial chain that goes from raw materials to synthetic monomers and then to resins, enabling it to serve industries in Asia such as automotive, sports, consumer electronics, and additive manufacturing.
