The proper cleaning of the electrodes in electromagnetic flowmeters is a crucial aspect, and it certainly requires certain methods to be followed. Here, I will teach you three methods for cleaning the electrodes of electromagnetic flowmeters. The first method is mechanical cleaning: in this approach, a special type of mechanism is installed on the electrodes of the flow meter. Thanks to this unique mechanical structure, debris on the electrodes can be removed thoroughly, thereby eliminating the dirt from them completely. A scraper with a thin shaft is made of stainless steel; the scraper is led out through a hollow electrode, and a mechanical seal is used between the thin shaft and the hollow electrode to prevent the medium from leaking out, thus forming a mechanical scraper. The second method is ultrasonic cleaning. In this approach, a certain voltage is generated by sound waves and applied to the electrodes, which allows the energy of the ultrasonic waves to be concentrated. This energy is then used to break down dirt, thereby achieving the purpose of cleaning. The third method is the electrochemical approach: electrochemical phenomena occur at the electrodes in an electrolyte fluid. Based on the fundamental principles of electrochemistry, an electric current is generated, which creates an electric field at the interface between the electrodes and the fluid. Molecules, atoms, ions, etc., accumulate on the surface of electrodes with the same charge. When the residual charge density becomes high enough, the electrostatic repulsion exceeds the adsorption force, causing the anions to detach quickly. This is the electrochemical method.
