In catalytic cracking, what is meant by the slag blending ratio – does it refer to the slag that is used to reduce the amount of slag or the normal amount of slag? I’ve seen some plants where the slag blending ratio is 80% yet the yield remains high; how is that possible?
Our re-urgent feeding material is regular slag
So is your slag mixing ratio calculated based on the regular slag that is added?

Catalytic slag doping refers to slag reduction. For constant slag, etc., the calculation formula is as follows: Slag addition ratio = (slag reduction amount + constant slag amount/2 + coking wax oil amount/3) / raw oil amount × 100%. Or, as the boiling range of the mixed catalyst material, the proportion above 538°C represents the slag blending ratio, or (% of distillate volume at 100–538°C).
I would like to ask why coker wax oil is still needed. P.S. Our residue oil is supplied directly from the atmospheric and vacuum distillation units
Due to the high aromatic content in coker wax oil, its cracking performance is adjusted by one-third to that of residue.
Is that how you do the calculations? Then what is the total slag inclusion ratio you’ve arrived at?
I feel that coker wax oil shows little reaction when it enters the lift pipe, and most of it ends up as slurry. The new technology developed by the Petroleum University can now process coker wax oil directly
