Do you regularly start up the lubrication oil pump for your turbine during shutdown maintenance?

For the lubricating oil of the operating unit, the isolation gas must be activated!

Work here has been halted for maintenance; on each shift at the unit, the lubricating oil pump is started up and run for 3–5 minutes. I only discovered this recently as well:D

Personally, I think since you’re not removing oil, it’s sufficient to ensure the pumps can rotate manually; there’s no need to run them in circulation! As for why, you need to understand in depth the principle of dry gas seals – there’s plenty of information available on forums!
