We plan to build a catalytic cracking unit with a capacity of 4 million tons, of which 440,000 tons will be unconverted diesel derived from diesel hydrocracking. I would like to ask about the crackability of this unconverted diesel; many people say that it is not easy to crack. At the same time, this type of oil has poor quality and is difficult to sell.
Diesel is no longer easy to sell, so we plan to reprocess it into hydrogenated diesel; the pipelines have also been installed. Raw materials containing a high amount of aromatic hydrocarbons that are difficult to crack cannot be considered good raw materials.
If a 400W catalyst can be used, the conditions should be good enough. Was no relevant assessment conducted before designing this?
The unconverted oil has a high aromatic content, and it’s also necessary to consider the performance of the catalyst used in the catalysis process.
