How to adjust high or low residual carbon levels

The atmospheric and vacuum distillation units are related to the properties of the feedstock as well as the extraction rates of various oil fractions; once the properties of the feedstock are fixed, adjustments can only be made by altering the extraction rates. Furthermore, some residue hydrogenation units can adjust the carbon residue in the bottom product by controlling the reaction conversion rate, in addition to using conventional adjustment methods.
The biggest influencing factor is the properties of the raw materials; the most important aspect of adjustment is to control the final boiling point of the wax oil, as well as that of the washing oil or superheated oil. Generally, a lower value is preferable, so the focus is on keeping it high.
