Do the employees in the delayed coking unit need to learn other processes?

As an employee who has worked in delayed coking for 6 years, it seems that most people are not optimistic about its future prospects. Many new chemical plants in China are also avoiding investment in coking projects. So, should we take this opportunity of large-scale recruitment in the refining and chemical industry to switch to different processes? If so, which types of processes would be more suitable and have better prospects for development? It’s not feasible for me to move directly from the oil refining sector to the chemical sector. I hope for some guidance; thank you all.
In fact, the skills applicable in the refining industry are quite versatile; as long as you can handle your tasks well in your current workplace, in a new company you mainly need to identify the differences between the existing facilities and those in your previous job, and understand them thoroughly from a technical perspective. As for equipment, there are generally no major issues with the standard types; take a look at any special features or things that interest you and study them thoroughly*. Additionally, it is important to have a comprehensive understanding of the safety aspects of the device; this is helpful both for you and for future colleagues, as it can at least save lives.
