I would like to ask the fellow sailors here: does anyone have data on the heavy metal content in the catalysts used in catalytic cracking units, the fine waste catalyst particles collected at the bottom of three spinners, and the fine waste catalyst particles captured by the dry dust collectors at the flue gas desulfurization stage? There’s one issue I’d like to explore in depth: among balanced catalysts, the fine waste catalyst particles at the bottom of the three-way cyclone, and the fine waste catalyst particles collected by the dry dust collector at the flue gas desulfurization inlet, which one contains a higher concentration of heavy metals?
I guess the amount of metal content in the fine powder at the bottom of the trispiral and the dry powder separated by the dust collector is the same. Both of the above contain higher metal contents than the balance agent; the nickel content in the fine powder at the bottom of the triscrew is more than 4 times that of the balance agent.

In used FCC catalysts, the finer the particle size, the higher the heavy metal content. There are still slight differences between the fine particles recovered by the triple cyclone and those captured at the inlet of the flue gas desulfurization system; one set is recovered by the triple cyclone, while the other cannot be recovered by it. The heavy metals in the raw materials first come into contact with the catalyst surface; some of them enter the catalyst pores. During fluidization, the catalysts wear against each other, resulting in a higher concentration of heavy metals entrained in the fine powder stripped from the surface. But in actual routine analysis, the values obtained for the three types of fine powder and the recovered fine powder are quite similar; however, they are definitely higher than those of the balancing agent.
