The Hebei Huaxi Special Steel ironmaking project is located in the Haigang Development Zone of Tangshan City, Hebei Province. The main construction elements include one 2,300-cubic-meter blast furnace along with the associated auxiliary facilities. The key engineering components involve the control building, ore chutes, the blast furnace itself, the slag handling system, hot blast stoves, dust removal systems, coal powder preparation and injection systems, a central circulating water pump station, blower stations, as well as the construction of civil structures and steel frameworks, and the installation of pipelines. Additionally, equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, and fire protection facilities are installed. The construction process includes all necessary tasks such as unloaded joint tests, tests under load, and the repair of defects during the warranty period. Construction of the project began on September 29, 2019. The blast furnace crown was completed on September 24, 2020. The interior of the hot blast stove was finished being built on December 12, 2020. The hot blast stove was ignited for heating up on May 20, 2021. Iron production started from the blast furnace on September 25, 2021
