Autotransformer step-down starting

There is a 160kw motor that uses autotransformer step-down starting. After the delay setting is configured, why is there virtually no delay during startup? It starts at full voltage almost immediately. And how many seconds is the delay usually set to? Please, the experts, give me some answers!
It’s related to your delay setting, dear! A few seconds? This? I ask you, how many seconds can you set as the maximum?
This post was last edited by yuchenchf on 2017-4-22 08:09. Why set it to 8-10 seconds? If your device has an ammeter, you can understand this by observing the starting current.
This approach won’t work; for large motors, it’s better to install two delay relays – one for star connection and another to control the duration of the star start mode. This is more secure for the motor.
