Now, the outlets of explosion-proof motor junction boxes all have flared shapes. How can an explosion-proof motor be connected to an explosion-proof flexible connection hose? Or how to wire it?
None of them are flared; it’s just that many manufacturers default to a flared design, probably due to cost and ease of installation considerations. An explosion-proof motor with threaded connections can be requested, or wired using steel pipes can be specified.
We purchase our motors first, and they come with flared connectors that cannot be modified; please discuss the wiring method using those flared connectors
The flared end can generally be changed to a threaded end, requiring the motor manufacturer to replace the external connector. The flared end cannot be connected to the flexible tube. Use armored cable.
