Nowadays, domestic water supply in factories requires outdoor overhead water supply pipes. I don’t know how to choose pipe materials? According to the "Building Water Supply and Drainage Design Code" (GB50015-2003), outdoor buried water supply pipes can use "steel pipes that have undergone reliable anti-corrosion treatment". At the same time, it is stated in the description that the steel pipes must undergo internal and external anti-corrosion treatment. "The galvanized layer is not an anti-corrosion layer, but an anti-corrosion layer, so galvanized steel pipes must also undergo anti-corrosion treatment."
In our production area, the most water pipes installed overhead are seamless steel pipes (carbon steel or stainless steel), and a small amount of steel frame PE pipes and PP pipes.
My main water supply pipeline here is still using seamless steel pipes. However, there is a plan for a new production plant. The leaders require it to be carried out according to specifications, and it is recommended to use overhead laying. The bracket span of the steel frame PE pipe should be different from the span of the steel pipe.
Of course it is different, the materials are different, the supports and hangers, and the fixing methods are definitely different.
If you are drinking water, I personally think that steel-lined PP is better. If the anti-corrosion quality of steel pipes is not good, it will be a pain. It is impossible for stainless steel pipes to be absolutely rust-free. Please tell me if I am wrong.
Overhead and buried are two different concepts. Galvanized pipes have been used for overhead water supply for 50 years and are used throughout China. Of course, if you pursue water supply quality, you can consider using other pipe materials.
