A detailed comparison of heating methods: Electric heating – in high supply and thus the best choice

There are currently three types of heating systems available on the market: coal heating, electric heating, and gas heating. What are the differences between these three methods? 1. Coal heating: It pollutes the environment. Heating with coal results in high levels of exhaust gases due to incomplete combustion, which can lead to gas poisoning. Prolonged use has a lasting impact on the environment, severely damaging the ecological balance. To protect the environment, **policies have been introduced to promote the widespread use of clean energy sources such as electric and gas heating. 2. Gas heating: Insufficient gas supply. Recently, the Securities Daily published an article titled “Natural gas shortage spreads to multiple provinces in the south; downstream enterprises reduce production due to limited gas supply,” outlining the areas that have been forced to limit or suspend gas usage due to shortages. The report states that in order to ensure a sufficient supply of natural gas during the heating season in North China, not only are there shortages of natural gas in regions such as Hebei, Henan, Shanxi, and Shaanxi, but supply problems have also arisen in many provinces in the south. Faced with the energy challenge of insufficient gas supply, Han Xiaoping, a senior researcher at China Energy Network, pointed out that natural gas is available only on a seasonal basis, and there are no good solutions available in the short term to address this issue fundamentally. In the short term, the best approach is to consider using air-source heat pumps and electricity, if conditions permit. 3. Electric heating: An oversupply means it’s the best choice. With the rapid development of electricity infrastructure in China, there is now an oversupply of electric power; since winter began, all provinces have reported an adequate supply of electricity. Heating with air-source heat pumps depends only on the supply voltage; as long as the voltage remains stable, the stability of the air-source heat pump system is comparable to that of an air conditioner, and it can withstand various challenges.
