　　1. When the EDI membrane module operates continuously under conditions of high current and low flow rate, it is unable to dissipate the heat accumulated from prolonged operation; this causes the membranes near the electrodes to heat up and deform, resulting in an increased pressure difference in the EDI concentrate stream, as well as a decline in both water quality and quantity to varying degrees. 　　2. If the EDI membrane module is not cleaned and maintained for an extended period of time, calcium and magnesium deposits form at the junctions of the membrane sheets and channels. This leads to an increase in the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet water, resulting in an inability to regulate the current, an increase in voltage, and a decline in the quality of the produced water, eventually rendering the module unusable. 　　Other causes of failure: If a failure occurs without any damage to the hardware of the EDI module (EDI membrane stack), then the following components of the EDI module should be inspected, and replaced if necessary: 1. Ion exchange membrane; 2. O-rings; 3. Ion exchange resin; 4. The module contains a protective liquid at the time of manufacture, and this liquid needs to be regenerated before use by the user
