On March 26, 2024, the 350,000-ton/year phenol propionic acid plant of Jilin Petrochemical’s Central Project Department successfully completed the installation of 4 horizontal heat exchangers, marking the full entry of the equipment installation work for this plant into an intensive phase. This development also laid a solid foundation for the subsequent installation of process pipelines. The phenol propylene unit with an annual production capacity of 350,000 tons is equipped with a total of 93 heat exchangers. The 4 horizontal AHU heaters installed this time weigh 27.25 tons in total; each one has a diameter of 2.6 meters, and they were lifted using a 260-ton crawler crane. On March 28, the installation of the first oversized equipment unit in Jilin Petrochemical’s 240,000 tons per year bisphenol A production facility was successfully completed. This marks a significant advancement in the equipment installation work for this facility; it provides experience for the installation of further oversized equipment units, and also creates favorable conditions for the construction related to pipelines and other related areas. This project is part of Jilin Petrochemical Company’s refining and chemical industry transformation and upgrading initiative. The construction site is located in the Jilin Chemical Industry Circular Economy Demonstration Park in Jilin City: the Eastern New Area, the oil refinery and the high-carbon alcohol plant in the east; the organic synthesis plant, calcium carbide plant, dye plant and fine chemicals plant in the center; and the acrylonitrile plant, fertilizer plant and synthetic resin plant in the west. The total approved investment for the project is 39.9452 billion yuan, with construction costs amounting to 35.101 billion yuan. Once completed and put into operation, it will play a positive role in advancing Jilin Province’s \"one main and six paired\" development strategy as well as Jilin City’s \"four major action\" plan.
