The image shows the site where the No. 2 Propylene Column for an ethylene production capacity of 1.2 million tons per year was lifted into place. Recently, the largest and heaviest unit in China Petroleum’s Guangxi Petrochemical integration and transformation project – the No. 2 Propylene Column for 1.2 million tons per year of ethylene production – was successfully lifted into position after 2 hours and 43 minutes. The lifting load this time was 2,180 tons. This marks the successful completion of the lifting tasks for 3 tower units weighing over 1,000 tons, carried out by the engineering construction company. The tower was manufactured by the construction company Qi Jian Company; it is 103.8 meters tall and has a maximum diameter of 8.8 meters. The Guangxi Petrochemical Integration and Transformation Project is a major initiative by CNPC to implement the **Belt and Road Initiative**, build a new land-sea corridor in the western region, and promote high-quality development of its petrochemical operations. It is also a strategic project aimed at facilitating a shift toward more chemical products rather than oil, as part of CNPC’s efforts to adjust its business structure. Once completed and put into operation, this project will help Guangxi Petrochemical shift from a fuel-focused business to one that produces chemical products and organic materials, thereby facilitating the transition of its refining and petrochemical operations toward a green and low-carbon model.

Other vessels that exceed certain size limits include the quench oil tower, quench water tower, and alkali washing tower. Once the lifting of these large towers is completed, the installation area will be available.
It’s okay, aside from the larger number of towers in the rapid cooling zone, there are only one or two towers in the cooling and heating zones. The key issue is that the towers need to be installed using modular methods; they have to be ‘equipped’ on the ground, which requires a lot of space. The construction process takes several months, and other equipment as well as the foundations for pipelines can only be installed after the towers are set up.
