China National Petroleum Corporation’s first integrated intelligent welding material warehouse came into use. Recently, the Tarim 1.2 million tons per year Phase II ethylene project, constructed by Huanqiu Liu Jian Company, became the first facility to feature China National Petroleum Corporation’s integrated intelligent welding material warehouse, marking the beginning of an era of intelligence and digitalization in the management of welding materials at this plant. It is understood that the integrated intelligent welding material warehouse consists of an intelligent welding material distribution system and automated dispensing equipment. It integrates modules such as welding material storage, distribution, record management, business integration, and data analysis, and enables full-cycle traceability of electrodes from storage, drying and storage, distribution, to recycling through facial recognition. Previously, electrode management relied on manual recording and paper-based records, resulting in issues such as low distribution efficiency, easy loss of information, and difficulty in tracking. After the implementation of the intelligent welding material distribution system, the time required to obtain welding rods was reduced to less than 1 minute, significantly improving the work efficiency of welders on site. It is worth mentioning that this system is also connected to the 4D pipeline welding system via data exchange, and it is equipped with intelligent electronic humidity monitoring devices that allow for real-time monitoring and automatic adjustment of the humidity in the drying chamber, thereby ensuring that the storage and usage conditions for welding materials meet the required standards. The introduction of this integrated intelligent welding material warehouse not only improves the management of welding material distribution by the welding supervisors involved, enhances the accuracy of records related to welding material management, but also addresses key challenges such as ensuring comprehensive oversight of welding quality throughout the project and enabling traceability of quality responsibilities. Next, the technical staff of Huanqiu Liu Jian Company will continue to deepen the application of digital and intelligent technologies throughout the entire lifecycle of project construction, seeking solutions to more critical challenges.
