Recently, the first 1,000-ton tower in the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base project, which was EPC-general contracted by China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. under China National Chemical Corporation, was successfully hoisted into place. This marked the achievement of the important milestone of having the tower erected and the lighting installed, laying a solid foundation for the project to achieve its mid-term delivery deadline on schedule. At present, the project has fully entered the peak period for equipment and pipeline installation. The shift gas methanol scrubber being lifted this time is one of the core equipment of the project; it has a diameter of 4.6 meters, a height of nearly 110 meters, and a weight of 1,200 tons. After the installation of accessories such as pipelines, ladder platforms, electrical instruments, and insulation layers, the total lifting weight reached 1,500 tons, setting a new record for the overall equipment lifting weight in the company’s EPC turnkey projects. To ensure the successful completion of this major lifting operation, the company’s project team planned in advance, coordinated all aspects such as design, procurement, and construction, and developed a detailed lifting plan as well as a quality control plan. Faced with challenges such as complex procedures, tight deadlines, and high construction difficulties, the project team organized work scientifically and carried out construction meticulously, strictly controlling safety and quality standards, and ultimately completed the lifting task successfully.
China Coal Shaanxi Yulin Energy Chemical Group Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China National Coal Group Corporation Limited. With a registered capital of 11.077 billion yuan, it is located in the Yuheng Industrial Park in Yuyang District, Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The first phase of the facility has an annual production capacity of 2.05 million tons of methanol and 600,000 tons of polyolefins, along with associated utility systems; it was completed and put into operation in July 2014. The second phase of the coal chemical project at the China Coal Yulin Coal Deep Processing Base costs 23.888 billion yuan. It is located in the southern area of the Energy and Chemical Industry Zone in the Yuheng Industrial Zone of Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The main construction activities include producing 2.2 million tons per year of methanol and 900,000 tons per year of polyolefins; at the same time, the existing first-phase coal chemical facility will be upgraded, with projects for producing 250,000 tons per year of LDPE/EVA as well as related supporting facilities being built. The main units of the project include air separation, gasification, purification, sulfur recovery, methanol synthesis, MTO, olefin separation, 3 polyolefin units, and 1 EVA unit, among others. The gasification unit utilizes the gasification patent technology of Air Chemical Products Co., Ltd., namely the semi-waste boiler process water-coal slurry gasification technology, and is overall contracted by Sinochem Tianchen Company.
