Recently, the Guangxi Hongkun crude benzene hydrogenation project was officially handed over. As the largest single-unit refining facility of its kind in China and the only one of its kind in South China, this project will fill a gap in the regional industrial chain once it comes online. It will supply products such as benzene and toluene to the Qinzhou Petrochemical Park, thereby promoting the coordinated development of industries related to phenol and caprolactam, and generating significant economic, social, and environmental benefits. This crude benzene hydrogenation unit is Hongkun Group’s first core facility; since its commissioning in July 2023, the project team has carried out thorough planning, organized activities scientifically, and implemented efficient management to steadily advance construction and operations. Faced with the climate challenges in Guangxi, such as a long rainy season, frequent typhoons, and high temperatures along with high humidity, the project team demonstrated a strong spirit of overcoming difficulties. Working day and night with determination, they managed to complete the lifting of 3 large-scale pieces of equipment within 144 consecutive hours ； A combination of shading canopies and misting systems for cooling was employed to ensure the welding quality of 176,000 inches of pipelines, with a welding qualification rate of 98.05% ； Construction was organized meticulously and efficiently, resulting in the successful completion of the installation of 29 storage tanks and the construction of 20 individual buildings. The owner highly praised the company’s fine tradition of being brave enough to take on tough challenges and capable of achieving success, and sent a letter of thanks. This achievement by CCCC represents not only a milestone in terms of being the largest single-unit benzene hydrogenation facility in China, but also a new starting point for ensuring the security of the high-end new materials industry chain in South China.
