Recently, significant progress was made on the electrolyte precursor project at Hubei Jingmen Yuanhan Battery Materials Co., Ltd., which is under the general contract of Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. (referred to as “Beiyou Engineering”) – the transportation of oil for the core equipment of the 200,000 tons per year ethanol production facility (including electronic-grade ethanol) has officially begun. These core pieces of equipment include the centrifugal compressors (C201 for circulating carbon monoxide, C203 for fresh carbon monoxide, and C301 for circulating hydrogen). This critical milestone laid a solid foundation for the subsequent individual testing of the compressors and the joint commissioning of the entire system. The successful launch of this oil transportation not only verifies the rationality of the gas station system design and the reliability of its construction, but also marks a crucial transition for the project from equipment installation to the stage of individual unit testing. It is understood that this project is located within the Jingmen Chemical Recycling Industrial Park in Hubei Province, and it is a key investment attraction project for Jingmen City, with a planned total investment of 3 billion yuan. The project relies on raw materials such as methanol, CO, H2O, and O2 produced by Yingde Gas Company, along with by-product steam and steam from the industrial park, to establish a new electrolyte precursor production facility. Upon completion, the project will include a 200,000-ton/year dimethyl carbonate plant, a 200,000-ton/year ethanol plant, an 180,000-ton/year ethyl methyl carbonate/diethyl carbonate plant, along with the necessary utility facilities. It will help promote the development of the new energy battery industry in Jingmen City and the establishment of a lithium battery industry cluster worth hundreds of billions of yuan, thereby strengthening and expanding this industry chain. The construction of the Jingmen Yuanhan electrolyte precursor ethanol production facility is of great significance; it will extend the carbon-based chemical industry chain in the park, increase the added value of products, fill the gap in battery electrolyte manufacturers in Jingmen City, and play a vital role in promoting the development of the new energy battery industry there as well as the creation of a lithium battery industry cluster worth hundreds of billions.
