On October 11, the Shenhua Baotou methanol synthesis plant project successfully lifted a giant precast scaffold column. The successful completion of this critical milestone marks a significant breakthrough in the project’s civil engineering work, paving the way for the rapid construction phase of prefabricated component installation. The Shenhua Baotou Coal-to-Olefins Upgrading Demonstration Project plans to use coal as raw material, and through coal gasification in a Corbin furnace, shift reaction, low-temperature methanol washing, and methanol synthesis, produce 2 million tons of methanol per year and 750,000 tons of polyolefins. Through simultaneous planning and development with new energy sources, deep integration between coal chemical industry and green electricity, green hydrogen, and green oxygen can be achieved.
