On October 29, an important milestone was reached at the wastewater treatment facility for Phase 1 of Yulin Chemical Project 2: the main structure of the primary reverse osmosis concentrate tank was successfully completed, laying a solid foundation for the orderly progress of subsequent work. The project is under the general contract of China Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd., which is part of China National Chemical Corporation. The 15 million tons per year demonstration project for the clean and efficient conversion of coal into various products, operated by Shaanxi Coal Group Yulin Chemical Co., Ltd., is located in the Shenmu Qingshui Industrial Park and represents a strategic upgrade project for Shaanxi Coal Group. By integrating core technologies, the project explores pathways for the coupling of coal-based olefins and aromatics, producing four categories of high-value chemical products and facilitating the transformation of coal chemical industry in northern Shaanxi toward higher sophistication, diversification, and lower carbon emissions. Its wastewater treatment system employs advanced processes to purify, reuse, and recycle wastewater, thereby addressing the issues of high pollution and high water consumption. Upon completion, the project will reduce COD emissions by approximately 20,000 tons per year and save over 35 million tons of water annually, serving as a model for helping coal chemical industries in the northwest overcome water constraints, promote the clean use of coal, and safeguard the ecology of the Yellow River basin. The first-stage reverse osmosis concentrate accident tank is one of the more than 30 tank structures in the wastewater treatment facility; its dimensions are 44.35 meters in length, 43.9 meters in width, and 7.75 meters in height, and it was constructed in two stages. Given the large number of pool-type structures in this facility and the high requirements for construction, the project team has always regarded the quality control of concrete raw materials, the optimization of pouring plans, construction coordination, as well as concrete vibration and curing as key control points. Through multiple on-site inspections of mixing plants, as well as the organization of specialized quality checks and training sessions, it was ensured that the quality of concrete construction met the required standards and specifications, thereby providing a solid guarantee for the overall quality of the project.
