Recently, good news came from Yankuang Energy Rongxin Chemical’s 800,000-ton olefin project: the civil engineering work has been successfully completed. This breakthrough at this critical stage marks the project’s rapid progression from the basic construction phase to the stages of equipment installation and system commissioning, laying a solid foundation for achieving the overall goal of delivering products by the end of 2026. The completion of civil engineering work is a milestone, as well as a new starting point. At present, the construction of Rongxin Chemical’s 800,000-ton per year olefin plant has fully entered the critical installation phase. 12% of the equipment installation has been completed, and 90% of the detailed design is finished; an intelligent, digital factory is taking shape at an accelerated pace. The annual 800,000-ton olefin production project of Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. has a total investment of 9.83 billion yuan and covers an area of 1,887 mu. It mainly involves the construction of an 800,000-ton/year methanol-to-olefins plant, a 400,000-ton/year polyethylene plant, a 400,000-ton/year polypropylene plant, a 15,000-ton/year 1-butene plant, as well as associated auxiliary facilities. The project uses methanol as raw material and employs MTO technology to produce polymeric-grade ethylene and polymeric-grade propylene monomers, which are then used in polymerization to manufacture high-density polyethylene and high-performance polypropylene products. By-products such as 1-butene, isobutane, C5+, and MTBE are also generated. Completion and operation of the project are scheduled for 2026, with an expected annual industrial output value of 6.67 billion yuan and an industrial added value of 2.08 billion yuan.
