Recently, the Sino-Saudi Ghulay PC&BPA combined plant project, which is under the general contracting of China National Chemical Corporation Tianchen, reached a key milestone: the power distribution substation for the phenol/** unit was successfully connected to the power grid, achieving high-standard handover at the same time. As the first major project undertaken by CCCC for this project, this delivery lays a solid foundation for all subsequent units to proceed fully into the commissioning phase. As the core power hub of the project, the substation plays a vital role in providing stable power supply to the process units and utility systems. To achieve the construction goal of \"power reception and commissioning at once\" efficiently, Tianchen Company’s project team made full use of its advantages in overall coordination as the general contractor. It took the lead in developing scientific and comprehensive plans for power reception, transmission, and commissioning, and worked closely with all participating units to carry out tasks such as equipment inspection, insulation testing, and protection system debugging. All potential safety hazards were thoroughly identified and eliminated, thereby providing a solid foundation for the smooth progress of power reception and commissioning activities. During the power reception phase, Tianchen Company’s project team maintained a rigorous and meticulous work approach, systematically carrying out key operations such as impulse tests on the incoming cables, power connection to the busbars, commissioning of the transformers, and energizing of the low-voltage system. Through comprehensive monitoring, the power supply system of the substation operated smoothly, with all technical parameters meeting the design standards and regulatory requirements. The power reception goal was achieved successfully in one go, along with the attainment of high-standard completion.
