Construction begins on nuclear power high-temperature medium-pressure steam supply testing and verification platform project On April 22, the “Guohe Series” medium-pressure industrial steam supply technology research, development, and verification project, undertaken by Shandong Electric Power Construction Company No.1, commenced successfully in Haiyang City, Yantai Province, marking the official start of construction on China’s first nuclear power high-temperature medium-pressure steam supply testing and verification platform. This project focuses on the development of core technologies for steam supply in the high-parameter nuclear energy industry; relying on Unit 2 of the Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant, it plans to build a high-temperature medium-pressure steam compressor test bench along with related facilities. The core function of the project is to efficiently convert low-parameter steam into high-temperature, medium-pressure steam, thereby enabling efficient utilization of the working fluid throughout the entire system and facilitating closed-loop recycling. Upon completion, it will become the first complete nuclear power medium-pressure steam supply testing and verification platform in China, effectively filling the technical gap in the field of high-parameter nuclear energy industrial steam supply in the country. Once completed and put into operation, the project will provide high-parameter industrial steam supply for third-generation nuclear power plants such as CAP1400, facilitating a leapfrog upgrade of nuclear energy from merely power generation to a combined supply of electricity, heat, and steam. At the same time, this project will provide key technical validation and support in terms of independent intellectual property rights for the comprehensive utilization of nuclear energy in China to advance toward large-scale, high-parameter industrial steam supply, thereby opening up a new field for the \"non-electrical utilization\" of nuclear energy.
