In the event of a fire in a building, it is generally required that the personnel on duty in the fire control room confirm the existence of the fire within 1 minute after receiving the alarm. If we use a normal walking speed of 1.7 m/s, the walking time for a distance of 180–250 meters is approximately 1.8–2.5 minutes. Adding 2 minutes for the pump to start up and reach normal operation, as well as any other possible delays, brings the total time to around 5 minutes. But this raises two problems. I. When multiple fire control rooms are installed in large-scale projects, how should the distances be determined? II. When the outdoor fire water tank and the indoor fire water tank are installed separately, how should the distance between them be controlled? Let’s first discuss the first issue. When setting up multiple fire control rooms, it is important to ensure that the distance from each control room to the fire pump room meets the required standards. If this cannot be achieved due to practical constraints, then the main fire control room must definitely meet the distance requirement from the fire pump room. What do you all think?
