【Haichuan Chemical Construction Technology】Construction process for vacuum preloading of roadbed foundations. The vacuum preloading method uses atmospheric pressure as the loading force for preloading. First, vertical drainage elements are installed in the soft soil foundation that needs to be strengthened; a layer of permeable sand cushion is laid on the surface of the foundation, and then an airtight membrane is placed over it, with the edges sealed to isolate it from the atmosphere. Permeable pipes are embedded within the sand cushion and connected to a vacuum pump to draw air out, thereby maintaining a high level of vacuum in the permeable material. This creates negative pore water pressure in the soil, allowing the pore water and air to be gradually removed and thus enabling the soil to consolidate.
